Round table and presentation of the Korean food cluster Foodpolis

FOODPOLIS is an R&D-based food cluster, proactively constructed by the Korean government for the mass food market of Northeast Asia. With the strong support of the government and municipalities, high levels of technology, and geared towards ensuring food safety, this cluster will require a large amount of land, 2,390,000m2, and will cost nearly 550 billion KRW. FOODPOLIS will grow fast as the hub of the Northeast Asian food market based on its distribution infrastructure, with connections to harbors, railroads and airports.
- Developing 2,390,000m2 for Food- specialized National Industrial Complex / Additional development of residential and commercial sites by local governments
- Creation of a green, energy-efficient, and R&D-oriented complex from a manufacturing-oriented emphasis
- Optimized water supply & treatment facilities as required by food companies
- Inexpensive furnishing of land

* It has been planned that companies will begin moving in as of 2013. However, support will be available for companies which need to move in earlier than the completion date.
